On Saturday, April 14, Russian students and faculty drove from Carlisle to Washington D.C. to visit the Russian art collection at the Hillwood Museum and Estates—the most comprehensive collection of imperial Russian art outside of Russia. Current Dickinson students were joined on the trip by three Russian department alumni, with graduation years ranging from the late 1990s to 2014, who are currently working in Russia-related careers in the nation’s capital. After taking a Russian-language tour of the museum collection, the group enjoyed a traditional four-course meal at a local Russian-Tadjik restaurant. Students, alumni, and faculty sampled soups, salads, dumplings, and desserts from the region while discussing career options in Washington D.C., internship advice, and the value of study abroad.
