Kazakh filmmaker Berik Zhakhanov is visiting Dickinson’s campus in October 2019 as an artist in residence in the Russian Department. On Wednesday, October 9th students attended a screening of his films and participated in a bilingual Q&A afterwards. Mr. Zhakhanov spoke about the filmmaking process, the difference between fiction and documentary cinema, and his own reaction to watching his films.
