Russian Language Students and Faculty Participate in the Talent Show

On Thursday, December 11, faculty and students from all levels of Russian performed in the Talent Show of the Russian Department.

Students in Advanced Russian through One Literary Text performed «Ойморозмороз» (“Oh, frost, frost”), a traditional Russian tune, and «Я знаю 3 слова» (“I know three words”), a contemporary song. Students in both Elementary and Intermediate Russian recited Pushkin’s classical poem «Я вас любил» (“I loved you”). Advanced Conversation and Composition students performed a skit based on the 2010 hit film What Men Talk About О чём говорят мужчины»).

Students and faculty also presented Soviet classics, such as the cartoon song «Песенка мамонтёнка» (“Song of the Little Mammoth”), and «Если у вас нетутёти» (“If you don’t have an aunt”) from the film Irony of Fate («Ирония судьбыили с лёгким паром!»). Andrey Kukhtenkov, Visiting International Scholar in the Department of German, sang and played the guitar with Prof. Elena Dúzs.
