On April 28, 2020, the Russian Department inducted eight new members into the Dobro Slovo honors society. Due to the pandemic, this year’s ceremony was held remotely, with Associate Professor of Russian and honor society advisor, Alyssa DeBlasio conducting the online ceremony.
Dobro Slovo is a selective national honors society for seniors with exceptional academic performance in their Russian coursework and who have shown a commitment to the study of Russian language and culture during their time at Dickinson. Several of this year’s student inductees have studied abroad on the Dickinson-in-Moscow program.
Five student inductees: Raphael. Guillebon, Grace Ingle, Anne Mothershead, Harry Qiu and Aislinn Stahl. Two faculty inductees: Iza Savenkova, International Visiting Russian Scholar and Irina Filippova, International Visiting Russian Scholar and On-Site Director of Dickinson-in-Moscow. Elizabeth Zizzi, Academic Department Coordinator for Russian was the honorary inductee.
