During Homecoming & Family Weekend (09\/20), faculty and staff of the Russian Department met with the students and their families to share teaching experiences, introduce the visiting professors, and talk about the prospects awaiting students of Russian. Among the guests was Dickinson alum Tim Carr \u201913. A Russian and International Studies major at Dickinson, Tim encouraged students to learn Russian by speaking\u00a0about his job:<\/p>\n

\u201cI currently work for Kroll Compliance in Reston, Virginia, doing due diligence and compliance analysis for the company’s Eastern Europe team. My work requires me to do research (both in Russian and English) into companies\u2019 corporate histories to make sure they are following proper business practices and are currently in good standing.\u201d<\/p>\n

Professors also discussed with parents and students the opportunities offered by the Russian Department during this academic year, including\u00a0study abroad programs and various social activities.<\/p>\n\n\t\t
