some book or website and then incorporate some of those tweets along with a few other links and resources into a short Storify essay. \u00a0Then you will embed this Storify into a blog post at our course website. \u00a0Please make sure this is posted privately by Friday, Sept. 19 at 9am.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>For this assignment, you will have to set up accounts in both <a href=\"http:\/\/twitter.com\" target=\"_blank\">Twitter<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/storify.com\" target=\"_blank\">Storify<\/a>. \u00a0They are free and you can certainly delete them after the semester if you don&#8217;t want to continue with either effort.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tech Recommendations<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Make sure to follow @House_Divided on Twitter and pay special attention to our tweets marked with hashtags #dhseminar and #henryadams<\/li>\n<li>And <a href=\"https:\/\/media.twitter.com\/best-practice\/tweet-in-the-moment\" target=\"_blank\">here&#8217;s some good advice<\/a> on live-tweeting from Twitter media<\/li>\n<li>For help with getting a better handle on how to use Storify, check out our video tutorial below and browse our various essays on the main\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/storify.com\/HouseDivided\" target=\"_blank\">House Divided Storify page<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/luZcU2E5cgI\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong>Content Recommendations<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The easiest way to tackle this assignment is to transform tweets about Kate Martin&#8217;s Constitution Day lecture into a short Storify report on the event. \u00a0Prof. Pinsker will be live-tweeting the lecture with hashtag #dhseminar and so will others from our class &#8211;so you should have more than enough material to put together a decent summary of the event. \u00a0The Clarke Forum will also be posting a video of the lecture at their website within about 24 hours afterwards. \u00a0In other words, there will be plenty of resources available.<\/li>\n<li>However, you also might want to experiment with taking &#8220;note-tweets&#8221; from\u00a0<em>The Education of Henry Adams\u00a0<\/em>(1918) and try turning them into a short summary. \u00a0The combination of notes from Twitter and a Storify essay might offer a really compelling way to create chapter-by-chapter summaries of the book. \u00a0Prof. Pinsker will create some examples of these note-tweets using hashtag #henryadams and others in the course will probably follow suit.<\/li>\n<li>Finally, you may want to try an entirely different direction, like tweeting about one of the <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.dickinson.edu\/seminar-digitalhumanities\/dhdickinson\/\" target=\"_blank\">DH@Dickinson projects<\/a>\u00a0and then combining some of those tweets with embedded links to summarize \/ review one of these projects in Storify.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0No matter what you do, try to come up with a really compelling title and then keep your essay very concise. \u00a0The best way to build a Storify essay or narrative is to insert the links or resources first and then try to craft short, lively text around them.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Assignment Try live-tweeting the Constitution Day lecture and \/ or &#8220;note-tweeting&#8221;
