On Tuesday, February 10, students in Professor DeLutis-Eichenberger’s intermediate Spanish class competed in an “Amazing Race” style Spanish competition! Following clues posted around campus, the students completed a series of tasks in Spanish that ranged from completing paragraphs using preterite and imperfect verb tenses, to locating the professor’s car on High Street and describing it in Spanish, describing the fashion sense of each team member, and using cell phones to view and summarize messages left on the wall of Calle 13’s Facebook page! Each of the aforementioned tasks was related to a topic covered in their textbook, Conexiones. In both of Professor DeLutis-Eichenberger’s sections, the first team that followed all of the clues and completed the tasks correctly in Spanish (Mateo Williams and Ashley Carroll; Doug Thompson and Alejandra Goldrich) took home the coveted prize: Hershey’s chocolate bars!
