On Thursday, October 2nd from 5-7 pm in the HUB Social Hall, the Portuguese Club hosted an event to celebrate Brazilian Independence Day. All were welcome to come and enjoy traditional Brazilian food and beverages. Students who studied abroad in Brazil shared their experiences and native Brazilians spoke about their culture, and everyone learned some phrases in Portuguese.
Brazilian Independence Day is on September 7, and it celebrates Brazil’s declaration of independence from the United Kingdom of Portugal, Brazil, and the Algarves on September 7, 1822.
