Dickinson&#8217;s chapter began in 1962 and since then many Dickinsonians, both students, professors, and visiting international students have joined SDP. As part of the induction ceremony each inductee received a red candle which they lit and later blew out, both actions carrying symbolic meaning. Additionally, the inductees were awarded a certificate and a pin bearing the royal seal of Fernando and Isabel, signed the official register, and received a red carnation, the Society&#8217;s flower. Three Spanish majors and Sigma Delta Pi members officiated, with literary reading presented by a Spanish professor.<\/p>\n\n\t\t<style type=\"text\/css\">\n\t\t\t#gallery-1 {\n\t\t\t\tmargin:
