{"id":1487,"date":"2011-12-06T18:01:31","date_gmt":"2011-12-06T16:01:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.dickinson.edu\/toulouse\/?p=1487"},"modified":"2011-12-06T18:01:31","modified_gmt":"2011-12-06T16:01:31","slug":"thanks-from-laura-intern-at-the-dickinson-in-france-center","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.dickinson.edu\/toulouse\/2011\/12\/06\/thanks-from-laura-intern-at-the-dickinson-in-france-center\/","title":{"rendered":"Thanks from Laura, intern at the Dickinson in France center"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Since the second of November, I am an intern at the Dickinson in France center.<a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.dickinson.edu\/toulouse\/files\/2011\/12\/laura.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-1490\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.dickinson.edu\/toulouse\/files\/2011\/12\/laura.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"212\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>From my interview, I immediately loved the neighborhood in which the center is located : a warm neighborhood in which we can find pretty houses. When we come in the rue du Japon, it\u2019s like visiting another country.<br \/>\nI was not disappointed with the interior of the center either,its elegance which combine of with a familiar aspect that puts us at ease very quickly.<\/p>\n<p>But over the weeks, I learned to know the people around me such as the students &#8230;<br \/>\nAnd I was pleasantly surprised.<br \/>\nIndeed, a warm and family environment exists in this center.<\/p>\n<p>I quickly became close with the students. It is with great pleasure that I discussed with them about their culture, which was already interested me for several years; the French culture and the place to go in Toulouse of course.<\/p>\n<p>With the center&#8217;s staff, Ms. Toux , Mrs.\u00a0 Raynaud and Alice, I was also quickly able to find my place.<br \/>\nSince the first day, I feel very welcome. It was with great pleasure that every day I had a coffee and a little piece of cakes during the meetings.<\/p>\n<p>So this internship has brought me a lot on a professional level because every suggestitions were constructive and relevant to my work.<\/p>\n<p>But has given me a lot on a personal level, getting to know new people, students very nice outgoing and funny students and a welcoming atmosphere.<\/p>\n<p>The moment I enjoyed most during the internship? Thanksgiving day &#8230;<br \/>\nThis day, cakes were available to students and coffee, tea,hot chocolate.<br \/>\nIn the evening, a meal was offered to me in the divine company of all, in the restaurant \u00a0&#8220;Le 19&#8221;.<br \/>\nIt was the first time I celebrated Thankgiving and I&#8217;m not ready to forget it.<\/p>\n<p>Finally, I have gotten up every day during 6 weeks smiling because every day is different and rich.<\/p>\n<p>I am thanksful to Ms Toux and Mrs. Raynaud whose enabled me to complete this internship,who accepted me and helped me during it.<br \/>\nI thank Alice, who lent me her office, her computer and who was always there to answer my questions.<br \/>\nI thank all the students who welcomed me too.<br \/>\nThank you to everyone !!!<\/p>\n<p>Laura Nabet.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Since the second of November, I am an intern at the Dickinson in France center.
