Вчера был смотр командира 6-ого корпуса генерала Павлова. Смотр прошел так себе. Командир отказался от чая. После смотра было общее собрание кадровых офицеров полка. Через полковника Скуратова я предложил вопрос: считать меня коренным александрийцем или только временно переведенным в полк? Так как были случаи, что меня не приглашали на собрания «кадра», да и вообще я хотел это выяснить ввиду близости получения эскадрона. Единогласно было постановлено считать своим. Я очень рад.

Yesterday was the commander’s inspection of General Pavlov’s 6th Corps. The inspection went so-so. The commander refused tea. After the inspection there was a general meeting of the regular regiment officers. I asked a question via Colonel Skuratov: should I be considered a real Alexandiran Hussar or only a temporary transfer to the regiment? This is because there were times when I was not invited to the cadre meeting, and in general I wanted to determine how close I was to being accepted into the squadron. They decided unanimously to consider me one of their own. I am very glad.
