This old acquaintance is terribly cold. It\u2019s not even 6 pm yet and I\u2019m already under 2 blankets; the thermometer shows +8. My hands are frozen.<\/p>\n<p>I went to the crater. Those hills at the center, which worked with all their might in March of last year, are quiet. The idea came to me to climb to the crater, gather some rocks, and sketch. No mortal has ever been there. I tried to climb down and became convinced that that I need to take a rope. Tomorrow I\u2019ll try it.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s dry; the bivouac is dreadfully dusty. At night it goes down to +4, just like the Siberian frosts.<\/p>\n<p><em>August 15th. <\/em>The volcano doesn\u2019t want to be tread upon. At night something took hold of my stomach; in the morning I went to the volcano and after half-an-hour I returned. Terrible weakness, dizziness. Barely made it. It\u2019s obvious I overdid it.
