I was appointed the contact for the 8th Cavalry Division and spent the whole day catching up to them. The roads were terrible after the rain. The gang at headquarters of the division were very pleasant: the head of the division is General-Lieutenant Zander; Captain Shatilov is temporarily in charge of headquarters. He assumed this position after Colonel Odnoglazkov, who is a nice guy, but at the sound of bullets he got off\u00a0his horse and lay in a ditch. I was surprised by the attitude of the soldiers at division\u00a0headquarters towards civilians \u2013 lately, they are complaining of looting all the time. I don\u2019t think our division ever did that. We spent the night at a nice folwark<\/em>.[1]<\/a> At headquarters there were up to 10 officers with their orderlies (for communication and etc.).<\/p>\n
