We travelled 48 versus in 4 hours. The weather was terrible &#8211; rainy and cold. We then traveled 14 versts from Groitsa on a &#8220;grain cart&#8221; and once again met up with our regiment. My rain gear was covered in ice. It is not pleasant to be in the trenches in such weather.<\/p>\n<p>Finally I am with my squadron. In the time that I was gone, our division moved from the 2nd Army to the 5th Army under General Pleve, the commander of which was General-Lietenant Miller. I rushed to get there and ended up arriving in time for a 10 day break. <\/p>\n<p>We are staying at a Folwark owned by a not-so-wealthy Polish landlady. The mail arrived and I received letters from October 10. I got my pack in order.
