She told us about the German campaign on Warsaw and how one German general was taken prisoner by our forces when he was in a drunken state. He was yelling, &#8220;To Warsaw!&#8221;, thinking he was giving the command to his troops. Yesterday Lieutenant Posazhnoy was sent on leave to Warsaw, and today so was Lieutenant Golikov. Lieutenant Ivanenko and Cornet Yankushevich are already there. It&#8217;s said that Cornet Sorokin will return soon, once he recovers, but the Captain of the headquarters, Toporkov, will not return to the regiment for a long time &#8211; his wounds are not healing. There are many officers in our squadron, but Captain Domozhirov and I are in charge.<\/p>\n<p>The weather is terrible. It snowed last night and there was a frost. Today it rained again.
