class=\"su-column-inner su-u-clearfix su-u-trim\">\n<p><b>Radzivilishki.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>The entire division arrived here at 7:00 in the evening. Today we passed through Shadov and the townspeople were telling me fantastic stories about a person who was in fact me. They talked about how a group of Cossacks\u00a0 galloped (they call all cavalry Cossacks) through the town, and how at the front rode a frightening officer with a Shashka and revolver, and how he shot it, etc. We ascertained the enemy\u2019s casualties: the Germans carried away 7 injured men and 3 dead ones, while 4 of our dead and Hussar Yurkin were buried by the local townspeople. At first Yurkin was injured in his right arm, and then the horse he was riding was killed. He ran to one of the nearby houses to take refuge and was stabbed by the Germans\u2019 bayonets. Today the townspeople met us festively dressed. The girls were throwing fir branches at the feet of our horses instead of flowers and brought out bread and milk. It was very touching. It is good to feel like the victor. It is the best feeling, at least for those who are soldiers at heart.<\/p>\n<p>When one of the local girls was bandaging the injured Hussar Tupitsin, she gave him a letter from a Russian prisoner of war. It is the final message from a true Uhlan.
