\"891621_10151505826354725_348628159_o\"<\/a>Saturday night Harrisburg welcomed a punk legend to the stage at the Midtown Scholar. \u00a0The Evens<\/span><\/a> (Ian MacKaye of Minor Threat, Fugazi, Founder of Dischord Records fame and Amy Farina) played an hour long set to a packed house. \u00a0The Scholar is such a lovely change of setting for shows that I normally attend. \u00a0The\u00a0balconies\u00a0made it so there wasn’t a bad view in the house (especially for us vertically challenged folks).<\/p>\n

It was an intimate show with lots of good band\/crowd banter. \u00a0Ian requested a few sing alongs and (most of) the crowd happily obliged. \u00a0The Evens are obviously a much more chill band in comparison to Minor Threat and Fugazi but there are flares of intensity throughout the songs. \u00a0Ian didn’t make it through the show without giving one of his signature speeches to a few fellas who were dancing a bit to\u00a0aggressively\u00a0for his liking. \u00a0This would be expected as it was St. Patty’s Day Weekend in Harrisburg. \u00a0There were also a good number of little ones running about which isn’t good at many shows but this was an exception. \u00a0It’s wonderful when kids can be introduced to live music at an early age and I wish there were more all ages shows in the area. Kudos to the Evens<\/a><\/span>, Moviate<\/a> <\/span>& Midtown Scholar<\/a> <\/span>for putting on a great show!<\/p>\n
