Todd&#8217;s <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW166200870 BCX0\">performance<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW166200870 BCX0\"> activities have <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW166200870 BCX0\">both domestically and abroad have <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW166200870 BCX0\">included playing Mark Twain opposite Brit<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW166200870 BCX0\">ish actor Tom Watson in<\/span> <\/span><span class=\"TextRun SCXW166200870 BCX0\" lang=\"EN-US\" xml:lang=\"EN-US\" data-contrast=\"none\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW166200870 BCX0\">Dickens an<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW166200870 BCX0\">d Twain: A Special Relationship<\/span><\/span><span class=\"TextRun SCXW166200870 BCX0\" lang=\"EN-US\" xml:lang=\"EN-US\" data-contrast=\"none\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW166200870 BCX0\"> in England, Scotland and the US, and reviving his one man play based on the life and writings of William Saroyan (to mark the centenary of Saroyan&#8217;s birth) which was performed in San Francisco, Fresno, New York City and Yerevan, Armenia.<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW166200870 BCX0\">\u00a0 He also developed and performed <\/span><\/span><span class=\"TextRun SCXW166200870 BCX0\" lang=\"EN-US\" xml:lang=\"EN-US\" data-contrast=\"none\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW166200870 BCX0\">Mark Twain Abroad<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW166200870 BCX0\">.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span class=\"TextRun SCXW166200870 BCX0\" lang=\"EN-US\" xml:lang=\"EN-US\" data-contrast=\"none\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW166200870 BCX0\"> He is currently working in cooperation with the Kurt Vonnegut literary estate to develop a one person performance piece to mark the upcoming centenary of this distinctive American author\u2019s birth.<\/span><\/span><span class=\"EOP SCXW166200870 BCX0\" data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Anthony Frost<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-158 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.dickinson.edu\/wronski\/files\/2022\/07\/thumbnail_95fc9ae1-68c6-4f6c-8cd5-37d46ce55cd7-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.dickinson.edu\/wronski\/files\/2022\/07\/thumbnail_95fc9ae1-68c6-4f6c-8cd5-37d46ce55cd7-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/blogs.dickinson.edu\/wronski\/files\/2022\/07\/thumbnail_95fc9ae1-68c6-4f6c-8cd5-37d46ce55cd7.jpg 600w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 225px) 100vw, 225px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Anthony Frost was until recently Director of Drama at the University of East Anglia and remains Course Director of its Drama and Creative Writing degree programme. The drama courses at UEA are national leaders and the UEA Drama Studio has an excellent track record in staging major theatre productions, hosting outreach dramas for schools, simulation training for medical students and annual Science Olympiads for young people.<br aria-hidden=\"true\" \/>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<br aria-hidden=\"true\" \/>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 After training at RADA and Birmingham University, he was one of the co-founders of these successful programs and now teaches dramatic theory, literature and criticism, as well as theatre design, and was responsible for developing the teaching of scriptwriting at undergraduate level. He has taught briefly at Birmingham University, the Free University of Berlin and Dickinson College, Pennsylvania. He is an experienced External Examiner, having worked at the universities of Cork, Northumbria, Northampton, St Mary\u2019s among others.<br aria-hidden=\"true\" \/>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<br aria-hidden=\"true\" \/>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 As a director, he has created a number of devised or co-scripted works as well as staging classic plays by Shakespeare, Moli\u00e8re, Tirso de Molina, Brecht, Wedekind, Lorca and Horv\u00e1th among others. He directed Todd Wronski\u2019s &#8216;Dickens and Twain: A Special Relationship'(2006) as well as the one-man show &#8216;Mark Twain Abroad&#8217; (2014) both at the Edinburgh Fringe and the Mathers Theater at Dickinson.<br aria-hidden=\"true\" \/>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<br aria-hidden=\"true\" \/>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 He has translated Wedekind\u2019s &#8216;Fr\u00fchlings Erwachen&#8217; (Spring Awakening) and Horv\u00e1th\u2019s &#8216;Kasimir und Karolina&#8217; (Casimir and Caroline) for student productions.<br aria-hidden=\"true\" \/>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<br aria-hidden=\"true\" \/>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 His academic publications include &#8216;Improvisation in Drama, Theatre and Performance&#8217; (with Ralph Yarrow, Palgrave Macmillan, revised, enlarged 3rd ed. 2015), and &#8216;Theatre Theories&#8217; (ed. and contrib., Norwich, Pen &amp; Inc., 2000).
