As part of the Lunch and Learn program at the Asbell Center for Jewish Life, Professors Kann and Siekert spoke at a special event on Valentine’s Day “Love Your Neighbor: Readings of American-Palestinian Poetry by Naomi Shihab Nye” (2/14/2019). Professor Kann read an original poem she wrote in Hebrew inspired by Naomi Shihab Nye’s visit to campus, and then both she and Professor Siekert read poems by the poet, explored themes of love, sorrow, compassion, and tolerance, and recalled Nye’s visit to campus last year as the recipient of the prestigious Stellfox prize.
Nye was featured here on the Dickinson College website in February 2018.
