For my choice in community I’m going to go with my NYC Jewish family. My family is generally very welcoming and very inclusive towards others. But they do think down on others who live ‘uneventful’ and ‘not creative’ lives. The groups I primarily experience are in a wide variety since NYC is a big melting pot of cultures. I reside in a diverse neighborhood with a significant presence of Jewish, Hispanic, and Italian communities. Many of the individuals in these groups share a common history with me, which often fosters a strong sense of connection. This shared history encourages people to be more amicable towards one another and contributes to a greater sense of community, accentuating the importance of these cultural differences. I think that similar effects occur with international politics as many countries have similar cultures and history so they generally group together and feel a natural alliance between the two or more nations.
