Description

Dr. King closes his “Letter from a Birmingham Jail” by reflecting that his time there forced him to “write long letters, think long thoughts and pray long prayers.” Writing, thinking, and praying (which we might also call, more simply, hoping) are the foundation of social action.

The Writing Center offers community space (and free ice cream!) to anyone who wants to experiment with how personal writing helps process the emotions that lead us to action.
