Our Space

The Media Center

In the basement of Bosler Hall, the Media Center is a hub for creativity, collaboration, and exploration. Whether you’re looking to produce a podcast, bring a video project to life, 3D print your ideas, or simply find a quiet spot to focus, the Media Center offers the tools, spaces, and support to make it happen. From hands-on studios to flexible work areas, this is where imagination meets action.

What can you do in the media center

The Room

The Room is a laid-back, open-door space built for hanging out and connecting. Stop in between classes, bring friends, or meet new people. You can listen to vinyl, play a board game, work on a puzzle, or brainstorm your next creative or entrepreneurial idea. There’s nothing to reserve and nothing to know in advance, just pull up a chair and jump in. The Room is where anyone in the Dickinson community can relax, collaborate, and find a place to belong.

The Makery

The Makery is Dickinson’s hands-on creativity lab—a place where ideas move from your head to something you can hold. With 3D printers, a laser cutter and engraver, a Cricut machine, sewing equipment, and a full set of basic tools, you have everything you need to design, experiment, and build. Create prototypes for a class, craft custom gifts, repair everyday items, or try a new skill just for fun. Open to creators of all experience levels, The Makery is a supportive, accessible space where curiosity is welcome and making is always free.

Podcast Nooks

Big ideas don’t need big studios. Our three Podcast Nooks are cozy, tech-equipped mini studios built for podcasting and audio creation. Just book a time, step inside, and start recording. They’re ideal for group projects, presentations, creative experiments, and the podcast you’ve always wanted to start but never had a place to record. Stop by the Media Center or email mediacenter@dickinson.edu to book a nook today.
