The Media Center Assistant (MCA) position is more than a campus job, it’s an opportunity to work with creative technology, help fellow Dickinsonians, and build real-world skills in multimedia production and makery support.
We typically hire assistants for the full academic year and begin reviewing applications in early April. Additional opportunities are available for summer, January term, and short-term positions throughout the year.

What You’ll Do
As a Media Center Assistant, you’ll play a key role in keeping our creative spaces and technology running smoothly.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Helping students, faculty, and staff with multimedia and technology questions
- Assisting patrons using audio and video hardware and software
- Managing, circulating, and maintaining media equipment
- Supporting Academic Technology staff on campus multimedia projects
- Creating tutorials and training resources for multimedia applications
- Helping maintain smart classroom equipment across campus
- Tackling additional tech and creative projects as needed
Who We’re Looking For
No need to be an expert in everything – we’ll train you! We’re seeking students who are:
- Curious about technology and creative tools
- Strong problem solvers with a helpful attitude
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
- Comfortable learning new software and equipment
- Available to work days, evenings, weekends, or a mix of all three
MCAs must be dependable and possess solid technical, communication, and customer service skills.
