Intro to camping 9/12

We will be leaving on Friday night at 5:30pm from Kaufman. We will return on Saturday around noon.

We will be climbing and hiking, so bring your climbing shoes or hiking boots!

You will receive more details later this week.

We will provide tent and food, bring personal gear.

In your post please leave your phone number, dietary restriction and if you need any gear (sleeping pad or sleeping bag).

Final camping trip! 4/26-27

We will be having one last camping trip for the semester led by Sara and Wes.

They will leave mid-day from Kaufman to go camping for the evening and try to return early-ish the next morning.

It should be a great time! Stay tuned for details.

3/29 Park Clean up

DCOC will be partnering with Cricle-K and EarthNow on campus to help out the Heberlig Palmer Park Spring Spruce up this Saturday at 9am! Meet at 8:40am in the HUB to walk together as a group.

4/5 Sunset hike

After the WFA class is over Sam Kilburn and Wes Lickus will lead a crew on a sunset hike in partnership with CSE to celebrate the end of the energy challenge and the theme of the last week, power down and go outside. Vans will leave as soon as the WFA class lets out for the day, time to be determined. We will post when we have more details.

4/6 Bike Ride

Have you always wanted to try to go on longer bike rides? Tired of just biking around campus? Here is your opportunity to get out there!

Sunday, April 6, Tyce Herrman (Dickinson College Center for Sustainability Education) is partnering with DCOC to provide bike training for people who want to take their skills to the next level and be ready for one of the best events of the year- the Bike to Farm Potluck on April 27th!  Tyce has years of cycling and cycling education experience, including a cross-country cycling trip in 2012.

Participants will be biking on-road.  The scheduled training and ride will be a maximum of 1 hour and a maximum of 5 miles, but participants are encouraged to ride longer and further with Tyce as their time and abilities allow.

Please meet outside DPS at 2pm for the trip.

A bike is not necessary for this trip, but if you have your own, you should bring it. You can borrow a Red Bike from DPS if you do not have your own (Tyce will help you take care of this on Saturday).  Max capacity of 10 individuals for this trip.
