As a student of the Russian language at Oxford, Father Christopher came to Russia 25 years ago. His first experience with Russia was on a summer program in Voronezh. This experience would not be his last, as it spurred his interest in Russian culture and Orthodoxy.
Father Christopher now lives in Moscow. He has a big family and a large parish in one of the monasteries. Because his church services often last all day, and sometimes even all night, Father Christopher set himself up in one of the old monastic cells. In this room he works, relaxes on his breaks between services, receives guests, and converses with parishioners.
