Hi! My name is Heidy Duran. I am currently a first-year at Dickinson College, and the major I am pursuing is mathematics. I am from New Jersey. My interest in food started at a young age from being exposed to different types of foods. My family cooks food from all over (hispanic countries), but primarily from Peru. Despite being exposed to many types of foods, I am not familiar on how to make it, so I joined Chemistry in the Kitchen to understand it better. I will say I am a great taster, but not a great cooker (for now). I hope my learning experience on cooking could encourage others to take on the task to learn something new!
