A wide range of experts participated in a series of panels in summer 2014 for on the challenges facing American presidents at war. The first panel at the New America Foundation in Washington DC focused on the constitutionality of presidential war powers. The second panel turned to questions regarding civil-military relations. The third and final panel also at New America (see above) examined the evolution of the wartime press. All three panels covered wide ground, although each focused on recent American history.
