Ian is British but he has already lived 15 years in Moscow. An alumnus of Cambridge, he is a specialist of International Relations and Security. In the late 80’s he came to work in the Soviet Union. After the collapse of the communist powers, the former Soviet republics experienced a boom of interest from Western investors who created a lot of work. Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan… After several years in Central Asia, Ian moved to Moscow and, as it turns out, stayed for a while.
The apartment where Ian now lives is small, but equipped with the latest technology. The separate room is both his office and bedroom. His young son is not allowed to enter so that nothing distracts Ian from work. Ian runs his own consulting company, writes articles, and performs/speaks on the radio. In his room, Ian works, relaxes, and thinks about Russia and his personal life.
