Our lab investigates plant natural products with biomedical potential. Unusual substances from plants often act as toxins, deterrents, hormones, signals, and pheromones. They shape plant-animal interactions in nature and are often useful in the field of medicine. Our work focuses on natural HDAC inhibitors that alter epigenetic systems and disrupt energy conversation pathways and phenolics with anti-inflammatory properties.
