History 211, “US Elections,” with Professor Matthew Pinsker, meets online for Dickinson College during fall semester 2020 on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 9am.  Course texts include Jean Baker’s Votes for Women (2002), William Gienapp’s Abraham Lincoln (2002) and Margaret O’Mara’s Pivotal Tuesdays (2015), as well as numerous articles and resources by scholars such as Eric Foner, Joanne Freeman, and Gil Troy, as well as various essays and projects completed by former Dickinson students.  This year’s course participants will undertake various writing and multi-media assignments of their own.  The focal point of the semester will be an in-depth web-based project on a critical election in American history.
