John, have you seen the film Chasing Coral? Highly recommend. We’ve hosted screenings at Dickinson for that film and launched some great discussions. Also, I just watched the new film on Netflix- Seaspiracy. Some really interested case studies presented. I look forward to working with you through this workshop to see how this passion connects interdependently to so many other aspects of the UN SDG’s including people, culture, economy, equity, partnerships and more!
John, your ideas echo many of the points made by Dr. Jane Lubchenco in her Priestly Award Lecture last week. Dr. Lubchenko is a renowned marine ecologist who is currently the deputy director for climate and the environment in the Biden administration. If you missed her lecture, you can watch it here: http://clarke.dickinson.edu/wednesday-march-31-2021/.
