The MAGIS Center is perfectly located for the type of work they propose. A boat on the Seine, isolated from the noise in the streets, represents perfectly a moment of disconnect from daily life in order to better reflect without distractions. Before arriving, we had no idea what was in store for us, which really helped us to be able to reflect on our semester in Toulouse. We spoke not only about the difficulties that we encountered, but also about how to interact with others in general. For example, we spoke about the fact that due to cultural differences, we often decide to not react in situations for fear of the result. During the activities we did together, my classmates and I spoke of moments where we felt uncomfortable. Despite the fact that all of these situations were different, we all agreed that these moments were the ones where we learned the most.
