The first half of this route follows the scenic College Farm Route A. This route is just over 15 miles.
- Starting at the corner of High St. and College St, head east on High St.
- Turn right on S Hanover St. (at .39 mi)
- Turn left on E South St. (at .61 mi)
- Turn right on S Bedford St. (at .76 mi)
- Follow to the dead end, and then get on the path that starts there. (at 1.17 mi)
- Follow the Letort Spring Run Nature Trail for about 2 miles, then turn right onto Spring Garden Rd. (at 3.17 mi)
- Turn left onto Bonnybrook Rd. (at 3.38 mi)
- Turn left onto Old York Road/PA-174. (at 5.29 mi)
- Make an immediate right onto Lerew Rd. (at 5.34 mi)
- Turn left onto Park Dr. (at 6.65 mi)
- The farm will be on your left. (at 6.96 mi)
- After you pass the farm, continue east on Park Drive. This will lead you into the town of Boiling Springs.
- Turn right onto 4th St. (at 7.91 mi) which will lead you to Children’s Lake. This lake is home to the Mid-Atlantic HQ of the Appalachian Trail Conservancy, the trail also passes along the east shore of the lake.
- Turn left onto Front St. (at 8.04 mi)
- Travel to the north end of the lake and turn right onto E 1st St. (at 8.24 mi)
- Turn left soon after onto S Ridge Rd. (at 8.49 mi)
- This parallels the trail (it’s about 500 yards to your right). Continue past York Rd (PA 74), where the road changes names to S Middlesex Rd. (at 10.11 mi)
- Turn left onto Lisburn Rd. (at 11.07 mi)
- Immediately turn right back onto S Middlesex Rd. (11.18 mi)
- At the intersection with Trindle Rd. (PA 641), turn left. (at 11.75 mi) Trindle will lead you back into Carlisle past Target & Lowes and will turn into East High St.
- After a few miles you will hit the intersection of College St. (at 15.41 mi)
This ride is of moderate length, with moderate terrain. Caution is advised to riders on both Old York Rd. (PA 174) and Trindle Rd./E High St. (PA 641) during rush hour traffic.
