Last Chance for Winter Bike Storage!!

Is your bike ready to brave the winter weather, or does it need to be sheltered from the snow and cold? Your last chance to put your bike in Winter Bike Storage is this coming week, December 8th through 12th from 3pm to 4pm! Stop by Kaufman 190 with your bike and ID, and we’ll make sure your bike is secure for the winter! Email biking@dickinson.edu with questions.  

Sustainability Spotlight: Nick Shewell, Handlebar Volunteer

Nick Shewell, a senior International Business Major and Mandarin Chinese minor from Oley, Pa, is actively involved in the biking culture of campus. Nick first became involved with The Handlebar when he was a sophomore. Originally, he was only there to fill up his tires, but he became interested in the greater mission of The Handlebar when he saw people working on various projects. Winter Bike Storage

While the weather outside might be nice today, there will be snow in the future! Make sure that your bike is protected from the harsh winter full of snow and salt, and protect it from possible theft. Bikes don’t like being left outside all alone. As usual, the Center for Sustainability Education will be providing Winter Bike Storage for people who don’t want their bike left outside over winter break. Bike Friendly University

In case you haven’t heard, we got some big news today!! Dickinson College was officially recognized as a Silver Rated Bike Friendly University by the League of American Bicyclists. The League’s aim is to create a bicycle-friendly America, and does so by helping states, communities, universities, and businesses each become more bike-friendly. Every year, these kinds of groups can be evaluated by the League in order to see how they can improve.
