I am standing in front of a beautiful view of Conques, a small medieval village that is one of the stops on the Saint Jack of Compostelle trail- it’s a trail for pilgrims, but hikers also take it. I really liked our visit to Conques. It was an opportunity to see a part of France- the countryside and a medieval village- that I had never seen. It was awesome! I especially liked the view in this photo.  I had never hiked back home, and even if I had, I would never have seen a medieval village. Also, Conques is so isolated that I could see the Milky Way- our galaxy- at night! It wasn’t completely visible because of the streetlights, but I had never seen it before that night! I didn’t expect to enjoy our visit to Conques so much!
