Come visit us in the WDCV Studios or stop by Britton plaza to meet djs, eat snacks, and wax nostalgic about your own time on the air at WDCV. Stop by the studio if you want to get back into the booth and put some tunes out on the air again (or for the first time!). All are welcome!
Saturday September 26th 10am-2pm.
One day every year we get to celebrate our very existence in a world of rapidly changing technologies and over produced Top 40 hits. College Radio Day is the day everyone should take a little extra time to appreciate this unique and free entertainment outlet.
We play the music that others overlook or wouldn’t even consider because they are under-appreciated independent artists on tiny labels. Often, those artists have gone on to become the giant acts that sell out venue after venue but you heard them first on college radio. We bring you shows like Democracy Now! that give an in depth look at news from across the globe and connects you with the people fighting for democracy everywhere. We give students the chance to find their voice and connect directly with people outside of the borders of Dickinson College. Our programming stays diverse by intentionally mixing student produced shows along side community djs and syndicated programming.
We are always striving to do better, find better shows, connect with the community in fun and meaningful ways, and be the Voice of not only Dickinson College but the greater Carlisle community. If you listen to College radio and like what you hear, give a call to the DJ (245-1444) and tell them they are doing a good job. We love to know that someone out there is listening. If you have an idea, a gripe or just a comment feel free to email us at email@example.com. We have been around for over 50 years and we aren’t planning on going anywhere (except a more visible location in the HUB would be much appreciated!)
Tune into WDCV-FM all day on Friday October 3rd and listen to the special programming for College Radio Day. Stop By Britton Plaza while we broadcast live from 12-2pm. Thanks for listening!

Tomorrow, October 1st, is an extremely exciting day. This is not just because it marks the first day of the spookiest and most pumpkin-infused month, but also because it’s College Radio Day!
Founded in 2010, College Radio Day aims to raise awareness of the power and importance of college radio as a medium to bring the community together and highlight local or underrepresented artists.
From 1:30 to 4:30PM WDCV will be chilling on Britton Plaza providing a variety of entertainment, including an open mic, arts and crafts, WDCV merch, and possibly even balloons. Clearly this event is unmissable. See you there!
The folks at WDCV are busy raising money for a well in Africa this month. The township does not have access to water and the development of a well would solve this problem. The Live On Britton Plaza events take place on Monday and Wednesday, and this Friday there is a grilled cheese and movie night! So here’s what you folks of Dickinson College and Carlisle have available at a normal Live on BP. You can purchase raffle tickets for awesome prizes such as jewelry or a gift card for the Clothes Vine. The are also artsy “bowl shaped” objects for sale as well as splatter painted spin art. Also available are buttons and we even have a bin of cd’s you can check out. Therefore all you folks out there should check in with us on Mondays and Wednesdays from 10:30-12:30.
Come out to chat with your favorite DJs on Tuesday November 1st from 11am-1pm. Buy Day of the Dead ( Día de los Muertos) treats and listen to music on a crisp, autumn day. We hope to see you all there!
October 11th is the first ever College Radio Day! This is super awesome and we are so excited to participate in it. College Radio Day was created to help showcase the wonderful stations across the country that may be seen as secret gems within in community they serve. Many colleges have been selling their radio licenses to fill gaps in their budget, but once that happens, you aren’t going to get the station back and a void is left on campus and the community. Please support WDCV by listening in and telling others what a great station we are. We love Dickinson & Carlisle and we plan on being around for a long, long time!
WDCV will be having weekly ‘Live on Britton Plaza’ broadcasts throughout the month of March to raise funds for Carlisle C.A.R.E.S. Carlisle C.A.R.E.S is a wonderful organization “whose mission is to provide shelter to homeless individuals and families when no other shelter can be found.” WDCV will be holding bake sales and craft sales as well taking general donations. All of this will lead up to our fundraising festival on April 2nd on campus. Please come out to Britton Plaza to enjoy fun music, tasty treats and raise money for a worthy cause!
