Hard Rides

This section highlights routes that travel much farther outside of Carlisle and really introduce you to the Cumberland Valley. The term “Hard Rides” does not necessarily mean that these rides will be difficult for everyone, but for the basic rider they may seem challenging. The intensity of this category is not set; you may interpret it any way you would like. For these rides, they are either longer than 20 miles, have greater changes in terrain than medium rides, or may be a challenge for some riders. As mentioned on other pages, you can use these routes word-for-word, or you can (as I would recommend) use them as guidelines for exploration. If you have other routes that you would like to add to this section, feel free to email Marcus Welker at welkerm@dickinson.edu or Biking@Dickinson at biking@dickinson.edu.
