All SpoilersAllSpoilers (1)

All Spoilers is a blog that was created to address the two ways that I interact with film; one as an observer and the other as a creator. I write essays on movies that I find interesting, either because they were good or because they weren’t as good as they could be. I break them down and look at what was it about them was successful or unsuccessful. The whole point is to better understanding of the craft of film making, so that my reader next film, or maybe just my next, film is better.

crossroad_picture The Art of Peregrination

This blog is at the intersection of arts, literature, culture, and travel; it’s a space for me to explore my wandering thoughts. As an English major, I have a love of words and a passion for close reading and analyzing texts. Recently, I’ve started to close read my daily life. In my blog, I will reflect on my continued encounters with the arts and travel from a humanist perspective to foster introspection and personal development. I hope that in reading my blog, you’ll discover opportunities for art and travel in your own life, and be inspired to live everyday with the desire to seek wonder and beauty everywhere and in everything. So if you’re keen on it, I invite you to join me on my journey as I study the art of wandering through life.

I love horseback riding—everything about it. I had given it up for a while, but when I learned that Dickinson had an equestrian team, I had to give it a try. I’m so happy I did because I completely fell in love with the sport all over again. Now, I know that riding will always be a part of my life. With this blog, I hope to communicate what the world of collegiate riding is all about, specific to the Dickinson Equestrian Team. My blog is meant for team members, families of team members and anyone involved in the horse world, but at the same time it is also for those that know nothing about horseback riding at all. I hope my blog will give insight to a team that most people know very little about. To me, the team is more than just about riding. It has become my happy place—my stress-free zone. In college, sometimes it is hard to escape, and the fact that I am able to ride has made that possible. With that being said, my main purpose is to simply share the stories of the team that has made Dickinson feel like home.

Dear Prudence,prudy

I love stories. Everything about them — telling them, listening to them, the way people’s voices change when they’re telling them. I often tell so many stories that many of them get lost in the abyss that is the human mind. Dear Prudence is a way for me to remember some of those stories. Some of them happened years ago, but some of them have yet to occur. I’m still trying to figure this whole “life” thing out, but hopefully this blog will help me do just that. Enjoy!

picFresh Perspective is a lifestyle blog that covers a wide range of topics. As a psychology major, I am interested in showing people things in a new light. Smith, author of How to be an Explorer of the World, states, “The aspects of things that are most important for us are hidden because of their simplicity and familiarity” (29). Through my blog, readers will realize that changing something as simple as a perspective can transform something ordinary into something extraordinary. I hope to encourage readers to think about what really matters in life. Fresh Perspective is designed for a diverse audience; I am sure everyone can find something in which they can relate!

Screen Shot 2014-11-13 at 5.55.07 PMHello, Sunshine

This blog is about my life in running shoes. I find running freeing, exhilarating, and it just simply makes me smile from ear to ear. This blog will give you a glimpse into what a day in my running shoes is like. The Merriam-Webster dictionary’s definition of running is “to move with your legs at a speed that is faster than walking.” …I’m not sold, are you? Take a look at my blog to see how running involves so much more than just quickly moving your legs. From a look inside my daily runs to my running quirks, I will show you the power of running. So, throw on a pair of running shoes and come join me in my happy place.

Mind the Gap: An Anglophile in Carlisleother about me page picture

Last year, I studied abroad in Norwich, England, and although I was excited for the opportunity to live there for a year, I had no idea that it would completely change my life. I came to view England as my home away from home. In an attempt to cope with the pain of being ripped away from my second home, and to keep the memories I have of the most important year of my life alive, I have decided to create this blog. Yes, I’m currently writing this from a tiny town in the heart of Pennsylvania rather than in the beautiful English countryside. Yet, I intend to allow the spirit of English culture, and my memories of my time there, to thrive through this blog. Among other things, I will write about my state of in-betweenness: I am an American girl who has returned after a year abroad with a huge piece of my heart still remaining in England. I am an anglophile stranded in Carlisle, and I encourage you to join me on this journey of reminiscence.

My Home Mendozaplaza independencia

This blog is an expression of my love for Mendoza, my home town in Argentina. It was born during my time studying abroad in the US. Being a Senior English-Spanish Translation major, I had always dreamed about spending some time in America. Paradoxically, once in the US, I realized how much I appreciate my home town and my own culture. This blog is a place where the college community and the public in general can learn more about this amazing place in Argentina. At the same time, it became a place where I could go back to Mendoza whenever I wanted to during my time abroad

sam Wake Up Uncle Sam

How much do your love your freedom? Everyday, citizens of the United States see international affairs flash on their television screens, but how concerned is everyone?  From my personal experience, it appears that a vast majority of citizens in the United States do not feel threatened and simply do not care, which is why I am creating this blog. I will conduct small surveys and share relevant information while avoiding generic political blogs of bloggers rambling on their political beliefs.  The goal of my blog is to raise awareness of the threats from the Middle East, with an emphasis on the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS).  This terrorist group has made direct threats to the US and I find Americans unaware of a situation that needs to be addressed.  It is important Americans care because our government needs to act more quickly and aggressively before we see another 9/11.  Wake up America!
