Dickinson College is hosting a Solar Scholar Conference on sustainable, renewable energy through Friday.
The program is expected to draw some of the region’s top scholars on solar energy for seminars on topics ranging from renewable energy concepts and new technologies to a solar education initiative.
On Wednesday, a tour of the Dickinson College Farm and photovoltaic presentation will be open to the public.
Photovoltaics is the field of technology and research related to the application of solar cells for energy by converting sunlight directly into electricity.
According to Dickinson College, the goal of the program “is a solar education initiative that promotes the adoption of and integration of renewable energy concepts and technologies into the higher-education curriculum.”
