A unique summer opportunity for students interested in food studies, culinary arts, business management, and more!

Position Overview:  The Farm Works Summer Intern will work as a member of a team with the Farm Works Kitchen Manager, College Farm Program Outreach Coordinator, and Director of the College Farm to support summer store operations, food prep, new product development, food preservation, as well as assist with campus-based or farm food production as time permits. This position will afford a student the unique opportunity to gain hands-on mentorship in culinary arts, retail business management, farm-to-table event support, and entrepreneurship. Additionally, the summer intern will gain valuable and transferable skills that are applicable to a wide variety of career paths.  

The Summer Farm Works Intern position begins in mid to late May and ends Friday, August 28th. The work week will range from 35-40 hours. Unless otherwise scheduled, workdays start at 7:30 AM and end at 4:30PM Monday through Friday plus an unpaid one-hour lunch break. 

Summer Compensation Package: The student intern will receive $10/hr; free on-campus housing; discounted access to retail farm products; and free access to any “up-for-grabs” items at the store, kitchen, or on the farm.
