Город Варта.

Эскадрон присоединился к дивизии. Наш эскадрон был в резерве, отдыхая после разведки. Около 3 часов дня выяснилось, что нас обошли, и мы поспешно отошли в город Варту, где были части 1-ого армейского корпуса. Остановились в уютном домике, я даже вымылся в ванне в психиатрической лечебнице при католическом монастыре, куда позвал меня врач 5-ого Донского полка, мой приятель Джапаридзе смотреть, как он будет делать операцию.

The City of Warta.

The squadron joined the division. Our squadron was on reserve, relaxing after reconnaissance. At around 3 pm it came to our attention that the Germans had overtaken us and we hastily headed to the city of Warta, where parts of the First Army Corps were located. We stayed in a cozy cabin and I was even able to wash up in a tub at the psychiatric hospital near the Catholic monastery. I was called there by my friend Dzhapridze, a doctor from the 5th Donskoi Regiment, who invited me to watch him perform an operation.
