The Village of Ostropyatovo.

Yesterday evening the regiment’s cuirassier convoy came directly to my lodgings. I am spending the night with the division headquarters’ convoy. Tomorrow our division is going on break, and I am meeting with the General. This evening I spoke with General Kallitsyn and the headquarters commander Bekovich-Baluisky. They invited us to stay in the division and receive the regiment here. But I declined.

The Village of Bareinaya.

I have received all of the documents. Our troops are retreating. The Red Army has already taken Kurtal. In a day and a half we have traveled 60 versts. I have gone to the village for horses; maybe I will find some. Mangut is already taken.

I arrived this morning in Kulamzino by horse-drawn carriage, crossed the Irtysh River with difficulty, and reached my destination in the evening, with a driver I hired for 300 rubles. If there are no reinforcements, then Omsk will fall within a week… and here everyone is drunk. Something is going to happen on the bridge—since the Irtysh is not frozen—and there may be panic.

Omsk.

I reported to the general on duty at the Eastern Front, and after receiving my appointment to the regular brigade in the morning, I was appointed commander of the regiment in the evening. Omsk is being evacuated with urgency. If the Bolsheviks cannot be beaten back, much will be abandoned.

Omsk.

I learned that our convoy in Kulamzino is also waiting to cross the river. Supposedly, they say that they will defend Omsk, but yesterday the commander of the operations division told me that they have decided to surrender it and that all generals and officers must retreat on foot (there has been some incident with the trains). All this is very upsetting, and many assets may be lost. They say that the whole army will be transformed into in a Volunteer Army. We should have done this long ago.

Village of Kruglovskaya.

The Red Army is already at Syropiatskaya and Alexandrovskaya; they are cutting off our path to Tatarsk. There are supposedly 5,000 officers left there—2 regiments. Generally, everything is moving east. How far will we go? In my opinion, we have already lost. The Jaeger regiment revolted in the night; they tied up the officers and began seizing convoys 35 versts to the west of Tatarsk.

Village of Antres.

Today I went with reinforcements to join the division. The day was warm, though the frost was significant. The lodgings are a disaster—about 50 people are crowded into the huts. They say that the Red Army is 40 versts from us.

Village of Pogorelskaya.

Today the Red Army bore down hard on our left flank. It turns out that a lot of trains carrying artillery and quartermasters have fallen into the hands of the Red Army. Morale is horribly bad; the weather is freezing again.
