We were hanging around, practicing drills, when suddenly we received an order – to march towards Warsaw. I went out ahead at 2 o’clock in the afternoon, as I had been appointed in charge of fodder. I collected officers for fodder from all the squadrons. We are marching to Brest-Litovsk. The Germans have advanced significantly somewhere in the area of Liubava, and we must contain their attack.
