Прошли 37 верст тайгой по ужасной дороге. Тайга хорошая – деревья в 3 обхвата. Кони начинают уставать. Мы понемногу начинаем голодать. Сегодня ночуем в одной избе 40 человек.

Permyakovo.

We have crossed 37 versts of taiga on a horrible road. The taiga is nice—trees as large as 3 arm spans in circumference. The horses are starting to become tired. Little by little we are beginning to go hungry. Tonight 40 men are spending the night in one hut.
