Полк, да и вся кавалерия, переживает исторический момент. В штабе дивизии получено известие, что кавалерийские полки из 6-эскадронных будут переименованы в 4-эскадронные. Люди двух эскадронов уйдут на пополнение в стрелковые дивизионы, которые развернутся в 12-эскадронный полк. Думаю, что их переименуют в Егерские. Таким образом, из нашего полка много офицеров попадет в “пехоту”, но пока ничего не известно. По этому поводу в полку много волнений. Я лично спокоен, обратиться ли мне в стрелки?

The regiment, and indeed the whole cavalry, is living through a historic moment. The division headquarters received news that 6-squadron cavalry regiments will be turned into 4-squadron cavalry regiments.
