Отдохнув душой и телом, поехал на север, но неожиданно встретил там 40 немецких кавалеристов и должен был с моими 4 гусарами свернуть . Но полк мы нашли. Вчера наши отступали. Хорошо еще, что я посылал донесения окружным путем, а то бы гусары попались в лапы немцев. Вчера обстановка была очень удачная для нас, несмотря на разрыв фронта.

Почти месяц, как я страдаю от болезни глаз. Наверное, пыль была первоначальной причиной. Порой от слез я ничего не могу видеть, а слезы вызываются солнцем и ветром. Отправился к врачу. Говорит, что помочь ничем не может и надо эвакуироваться. Но как же Доможиров останется один? Да и вообще стыдно уезжать в такое время.
